Life of a nomad

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog. I am what you may refer to as a lost soul, I have dreams, ambitions but I still LACK the dream job. I love where I live and what I do for work. I can do it for extended periods of time. But in the end, my life revolves around discovery. If I had lived 200 years ago, I would have been an explorer. I love the sense of adventure and the feeling of being completely lost in another world of language, smells and sights. I have traveled extensively for nearly 7 years but there is still 155 more countries in the world for me to visit. Maybe if one day I said I was going to set off and complete 100 countries in 2 years, who would want to know about this. Would someone follow this story, want to document it and perhaps write a book... I love life and I live it to its limits. There must we a shiny object at the end of the tunnel for me... I am sure of it...

1 down, 1 more to go!!

Rain, snow, couch-surfing meetings and depleting funds... Oh the joys of starting fresh in a new country. I have been spending so long in the local cafes and finally they remember what I drink. Sad I know, it took them 2 weeks of solid harassment to remember my very simple order.

The light is shining with 1 job secured and now just waiting on the main job. Starting thursday night I will be a bartender again at a nice little lounge bar on Granville ave. Not the exact place I was hoping for but it will be much needed money for me. I am also in the search of a new apartment, well kind of. I have already found an apartment in the city centre, but I now need to look with my new roommate for a 2 brm in the city. Which at htis time of the year will be easier said then done. Searching for a 2 brm in Yaletown, downtown or westend is going to be crazy let alone on the budget we hope to find. But these are the joys of renting right.

At least the locale at this point is much better for job hunting, working etc. I am excited to start socializing again and having some what of a life here in Vancouver. The first social event I have attended in a while was last night. A couch-surfing meeting where I was able to talk with like minded people about.. well you guest it.. travel... I am always talking about travel.. But I do need to remember that I am here for long term now, so I can't get wound up in the travel world too much, otherwise I will want to plan holidays before I even have accumulated them. Never fear though... the path is clearer, beside the rain and snow and homeless people... its looking brighter for life in the great white north... I love life... haha
